1st Regional CSO dialogue, 24-26 September 2012

The 1st Regional CSOs Dialogue on Water Resources Management and Climate Change Adaptation in the Mekong Basin was organized to provide a platform for face-to-face learning and exchange on climate change adaptation (CCA) approaches and environmental governance. The three-day dialogue was held in Nong Khai province, Thailand. Over the course of the Dialogue, Mekong region civil society organization (CSOs) representatives from a broad range of fields where familiarized with the key concepts of adaptation and vulnerability, risk reduction, mitigation, exposure and others in the different socio-ecological contexts in the Mekong region. The combination of policy, climate change science and local implementation experiences in the dialogue highlighted the need for understanding the complexity of interactions between human and nature in traditional and modern scientific communities under the uncertainty of climate change scenarios.
